How Do I Get to the Church?

Hunter First Baptist Church

693 Hwy 91

Elizabethton TN 37643

From Johnson City:  In Johnson City, on I-26, take EXIT 31  and then proceed to Elizabethton. Go completely through Elizabethton on Broad Street (Hwy 321) until you reach Highway 19E (Food City is at this intersection). Turn left. Then take the Shady Valley exit on right onto Highway 91 North.  We are located three miles on Highway 91 North on the left (second church on left).

From Bristol:  On Highway 19E, as you are coming down the hill into Elizabethton (This is just before entering Elizabethton), exit right onto the Shady Valley Exit (Hwy. 91 North) then turn left at the end of the ramp onto Highway 91 toward Shady Valley.  We are located three miles on the left on Highway 91 (second church on left).

From Hampton:  On Highway 321, go through three traffic lights then take the Shady Valley Exit on right onto Highway 91 Norht.  We are located three miles on the left on Highway 91 (second church on left).

Do I Need Tickets for the Program?

There is absolutely no charge to see "The Love of Jesus."  Tickets are not needed.

Are children permitted to attend?

We ask that parents use their descretion in this area.  Because of the crucifiction scene, the program may be inappropriate for small children.  In previous years, parents of small children have been seated near exit doors should they feel the need to leave.  Ushers will be available to assit you with your seating decision.

How many people participate in the drama?

More than we could ever thank and far more than you will actually see during the performance.  Every performance requires not only the actors and singers, but multiple sound, lighting, television, and staging personnel.  In addition to those working at each performance, there are many who worked weeks in advance preparing staging, backdrops, props, and costumes.  In some way, nearly every active member of Hunter First has some part in the preparations.  The performance itself has approximately 80 actors, singers, and technicians.

New to the 2006 Program!!
Each year we reach to make the program more authentic with new sights and effects.  Improvements from previous years include our mechanical lift system that raises Jesus over 20 feet for His ascension, new backdrops, curtains, and authentic costumes.  This year, we have changed the overall narration to further bring the life of Christ to a modern audience.
